FC Cincinnati was established in 2015 as members of the USL. In 2019 they joined Major League Soccer (MLS) the top tier of the sport in North America. It was a rough first few seasons in MLS for the club, but in 2022, they moved up the table and to a seat at the playoff table. The team's mascot is Gary the Lion.
